Global Warming > President Bush and Global Warming > Scandalous

In a press briefing on the latest IPCC reports released April 6, 2007, Chariman Connaughton continually stated that the report "reinforced" the Bush Administration's stand on Global Warming. He mentioned that they are putting more policies in place to "displace 20 percent of our petroleum usage". Basically he said that the Administration is doing everything they can to help solve this crisis.

In March we all learned about Phillip Cooney and how he rewrote scientific reports on climate change in an effort to make it look like human's have little effect on Global Warming. Phillip Cooney was appointed the Chief of Staff of the White House Council on Environmental Quality. Now he is a lobbyist for Exxon Mobil. So if this is just one scandal that came from The Bush Administration, I hate to think of what else is happening in an effort to confuse Americans about Global Warming, and if he is actually doing everything he could be.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words... So, instead of comment this is a somewhat funny outlook on Mr.Bush and his Administration. Unfortunately, it's also sad:

How about Middle East? We all know that Mr Bush and his administration continue making that zone getting "warmer" with his policy and weapon.

Well, You've said it yourself: we all know that. I've expressed my opinion about politicians in my post on another topic Don't believe everything you hear( Global warming forum)... USA foreign policy under Mr Bush is criticized all over the world and lately even in the USA. But I don't think this topic or this group is the right place to discuss this matters and I try not to ponder about Mr Bush more than I have to. I had enough of him in the last years. Hopefully someone smarter will succeed him...

I agree with Calimero. This discussion is geared toward what The Bush Administration is doing about Global Warming. While I completely agree that he has made numberous mistakes in his 2 terms as President (and I can go on and on about what I think of Bush), opinions on other topics related to Bush shouldn't be discussed here.

there were comments as to how politics could play a great role in eradicating global warming and other viewpoints claiming that politics cant solve the issue.
I belong to the latter...unfortunately as much as the G8, the Bush administration isnt doing much that is to say, no efforts!! Soon the Kyoto arrangement will come to an end, and still Bush hasnt decided upon a policy and numbers that go along with it
we see this vagueness and inactivity in the last meeting in Germany where Bush doesnt commit to the reduction by 50% of gaz fuel emissions in the years to come.
As we all know, US ranks first in pollution rates...
Not that i have something against the States but it is high time it set an example to other states which are doing far better
Bush is a disappointment in so many areas
but even more in terms of the Global warming issue,
had it been considered seriously 20 years ago, there wouldnt be the red alert now...
xoxoxo
peace

Calimero, i dont think you are helping matters.I beg to differ with you. Great revolutions on this earth never started by thousands, but by a single revolutionary joining forces with people of like minds. Shunning discussing this issue of global warming isnt the solution. It is our world and we always have to push thjose in charge of the stewardship of this earth to do something, no matter how lone or distant that voice may sound. So it is worth discussing on this forum and never to tire. It is like your house is on fire and when you fail to put out the flame, you even discourage those who try to help you put it out. No man, let us talk until we see change for the reversal of this trend. Bush can and must shift his policies to address the global warming issue. No two ways about it.

Well Mr Calimero, Let us just say you and i agree to disagree. It wont have to take a Bush successor to change matters. The time to act is now. I do not have much time right now to go through all the posts as it is approaching midnight here in Zambia. Hop to do that soon.

Please do take your time... Maybe then You will realize that what I'm talking about isn't about Global warming and Bush administration policy about it. My post was a reply to a direct question from mossthemost directed to me and it was about Middle East politics - not Global warming! I've expressed how I feel about Mr Bush but also pointed that this is A Global Warming group and therefore this isn't a place to talk about Middle East... If I didn't care about Global Warming I wouldn't be a member of this group and wouldn't post so much about the issue in various forums in this group! And I seriously doubt that the owner of this group(puris omnia pura) would agree with me in her post if what You think I said is true. You got it all wrong...
