When we are to part with friends and know in our hearts that somewhere in the future that we will meet again, the farewell can be bittersweet.

But if we are to part for an uncertain period of time from a loved one, the farewell will take on a different dimension.

As one unknown author aptly says, "The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected."

That's because the heart so much refuses to let go, and that's what makes it so much harder to let go. The long days of absence of a loved one simply makes the heart squeezes in pain and the tears to fall uncontrollably.
